"I wanted to speak on this because I love the hip hop culture with a deep deep passion," said Gotti.
Gotti made a long passionate speech during his conversation with host Sway about the state of the record label, and how he believes their artists deserve a top man like himself who understands them and will push them forward.
"Def Jam is the home for the homeless. For the artist who can not be heard and listened to and understood, they have a home with Def Jam."
The Murder, Inc. co-founder said if he isn't chosen as president, he wants to see the label push forward for the sake of keeping the hip-hop culture alive.
"Even if it ain't me, I'm cool. Put someone there who knows what he's doing, that's about the culture and is gonna care or else y'all just gonna let it fall." --Natelege Whaley
