Rihanna Earns 20th Top 10 Single, Makes Billboard Charts History

Young Rihanna has quickly become one of music's biggest stars ever. She currently sits in the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart with her current single "We Found Love," coming in at #9. With that, she became earned her 20th single to hit the top 10, making her the fastest to reach the feat than any other solo artist, surpassing the iconic Madonna.
Rihanna first graced the Hot 100 in June 2005 with "Pon De Replay" eventually peaking at #2. From there, she reaches 20 top 10s in a span of just six years and four months, besting Madonna for the quickest collection of top 10s among soloists (from an artist's first Hot 100 appearance) in the chart's 53-year history. Madonna tallied her 20th top 10, "Hanky Panky," in July 1990, for a stretch of six years and nine months, following her introduction with her single "Holiday." Rihanna surpasses Madonna's mark by five months.
Despite passing Madonna, she looks up to her as an icon. "I think that Madonna was a great inspiration for me, especially on my earlier work," Rihanna recently revealed. Among all musical acts, Rihanna's run to 20 top 10s is the second-fastest, right behind the Beatles, who continue to beat out the competition after taking just two years and seven months to achieve the awesome milestone.
