50 Cent Launches 'Street King' In Times Square -- It's An Energy Shot

After teasing his Twitter followers about a movement he calls "Street King" for months now, 50 Cent finally explained what the whole initiative was about last week.
While specific details were not given, this week, the hip-hop mogul put it into effect.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Fif hit Times Square on Wednesday (September 14) in a double-decker bus, giving away samples of his new "Street King" energy shot, promotional hats and shirts, as well as other goodies.
"It kind of reflects my lifestyle," 50 told theWSJ of the flavored, caffeinated drink. "It's for the guy who decides he wants to go to the nightclub, but he has school tomorrow. In college. He'll need it. You know?"
As he previously explained, 50 wants to feed one billion children in Africa, after being inspired to do so during a recent visit to the impoverished continent.
Proceeds from Street King -- which contains "caffeine comparable to a cup of coffee" -- will benefit the World Food Programme, the food aid branch of the U.N.
"Today, I sent a check that created 2.5 million meals," 50 said. "With this energy shot, I want to achieve one billion meals. In the future, when I involve myself on other projects or invest in companies, expect a charitable component to be connected to it. I want to actually make a difference. I want to influence my peers -- not just artists but young entrepreneurs -- to adapt a business model that will affect scenarios that seem unfixable by the government."

50 Cent Officially Launches Street King Energy Shot To Fight Hunger

Rap star 50 Cent celebrated the launch of his new energy drink, Street King last night (September 14th) in New York.


The rapper, along with business manager Chris Lighty and Street King executive Chris Clark, hosted an intimate event for about 50 music executives, journalists and other movers and shakers at the Hudson Hotel.


50 Cent came up with the concept of the Street King energy shot, in order to fight world hunger. For every shot that is purchased, a meal is provided for a child in need.




The rap star's goal is to serve over 1 billion meals, through the Street King energy drink initiative, which has already gather support from superstars like Justin Bieber, Drake, Lady Gaga and others.


“These are some of the most influential people in the world,” 50 Cent said.“It's hard to find a guy Justin Bieber stage, who can compete with him in terms of influence."


50 explained he decided to launch the initiative, after traveling the world is witnessing the conditions of people who are less fortunate, and were struggling with extreme levels of poverty.

"It's very exciting I'm looking forward to being able to move forward and do bigger and better positive things," 50 Cent said. "I've said in the test work in progress and I feel like I am progressing."


In related news, his 50 Cent said that upcoming album black magic is completely finished. The rapper is waiting to confirm a release date for his fifth studio album.

50 Cent has been teasing his Twitter followers for months about a new initiative called #SK, or #StreetKing. Well, he finally let the cat out the bag this week, via a new video recorded while in Australia over Labor Day Weekend, in which he revealed the #SK movement's details.
In the clip, Fif explained that during his current tour run, he was moved and saddened by the hunger struggles that plague the continent of Africa ... and he wants to act. That's what's "Street King" is all about.
The G-Unit General wants to feed one billion African children.
"I grew up without money, but I didn't grow up hungry," 50 began. "It's a lot of people out there actually hungry out there in and I know it.., actually dying of hunger. And I feel like it's our responsibility to come together and do things to create a solution for this actual problem."
In an effort to feed one billion children, 50 announced a partnership with New York company Pure Growth Partners last month, to release the Street King Energy shot -- a fortified natural juice supplement that contains no caffeine or sugar. The proceeds from each sale will go towards providing one meal for a child in Africa.
"What I've seen from this actual run, when I was out in Africa was unbelievable -- the devastation and desperation of people who don't know when they'll receive their next meal, or if they're going to receive their next meal," he continues. "I want to feed a billion kids and I need your help to do it. I need you to utilize your energy, your voice, to provide additional motivation for me at times. My new project is called 'SK', that's Street Kings and y'all know the plan. I just told y'all the plan. I want to feed a billion kids."
