Cash Money Records Signs Teen Pop Group, Saavy
Cash Money Records announced a new signing this week, revealing that they've finalized a record deal with Savvy, a six-member rising teen pop sensation who star in the international hit television show "The Wannabes."
The six members of the group include Shaylen Carroll, Gabrielle "GiGi" LeMaire, Mariah Parks, Drew Rojas Reinartz, Alan Shaw, and Andrew Bowen Stern. The talented teens -- who hail from Texas -- sang, acted and danced their way into the hearts of fans in Australia, Germany and Latin America through "The Wannabes."
And now, with the signing to Cash Money, hope to make an impact in the States, via their Cash Money debut; and on "The Wannabes" which premiered this week on Starz Kids & Family channel, a comedy with original music that follows six talented high school students who attend a classical arts academy as they strive to become pop stars.
Their music spans over a range of styles, from soulful ballads to high-energy funk, they demonstrate the wide range of abilities in the group.
Cash Money were impressed with their charisma in their videos, onscreen and on the stage.
"We are blown away by the range of talent of Savvy," said Cash Money Co-Ceo, Ronald "Slim" Williams. "They work together and embody the hardworking spirit of the Cash Money family."
Savvy is the first pop group signed by Cash Money Records, and is a testament to their ever-expanding empire that began as an upstart record label in New Orleans and has grown to an operation that has sold nearly 60 million records worldwide ... and boasting a roster with the likes of Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Jay Sean and Birdman.
